What to do if I have lost or found a dog?
If you have found a dog, do NOT give information such as if he was wearing a collar, neutered/ spayed, or describe distinguishing marks. Make the person trying to claim the dog describe him or her to you!!!
What should I do?
Gather all the information you can:
Breed
Color and distinguishing marks
Male/Female and whether it is neutered or spayed
Collar & tags
Location and time the dog was lost or found
Recent pictures
1. If you have lost a dog, submit the following information and a recent picture to our facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/Homewardboundok.
2. You may also consider submitting the same info to the following facebook pages: Hinton Record, Hinton Oklahoma Hinton Oklahoma Garage Sale, and Penny Pinchin' Mamas just to name a few.
3. Call the Animal Control Officer at the Hinton Dog Pound, Gary at (405) 952-4124
4. Take signs with a picture to your local vets and businesses.
5. Post a sign in your yard if you have a lost dog. Often people will walk or drive the neighborhood looking for the dog if they know he or she is missing.
6. Walk around in the area where the dog was lost, he may pick up your scent. Leave something with your scent outside.
